The UK’s best selling vinyl albums and singles in 2021 have been released by Official Charts.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, ABBA’s new album Voyage rose to the number one spot, having sold 40,000 copies since its release in November.

Not far behind was Adele’s widely anticipated album 30, which sold an impressive 37,000 records across 2021, with 16,700 in its opening week alone.

Other entries include Ed Sheeran’s =, Lana Del Rey’s Chemtrails Over The Country Club, and Sam Fender’s Seventeen Going Under, alongside classics like Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours and Nirvana’s Nevermind.

In terms of singles, The Specials’ ‘Ghost Town’ took top spot, followed by Harry Styles’ ‘Watermelon Sugar’ and David Bowie & Morrisey’s Cosmic Dancer’.

2021 was a strong year for vinyl sales in the UK, reaching a 30 year high with 5.3 million records soldacross the year.
